How to become a member of At Home Chesapeake (AHC):
At Home Chesapeake is a participatory organization. The cultural expectation is that members join to educate themselves about living and aging well in their communities, that they are willing to make a MAP (Master Aging Plan) to support their decisions, that they agree to share the resources of AHC, and most importantly, be willing to spend time and have fun with each other.
For the potential member to be ready to match the expectations of the organization, most attend some of the coffee/discussions held at members’ homes. They might also attend some of the planned social glue activities, and/or meet with other members for a discussion/conversation relating to AHC.
We have found that this informal approach to membership in AHC has produced a wonderfully warm and bonded group who have become friends and in some cases “almost family” as well as strong advocates for each other.
If you think you might like to join us or just want to find out more about us, contact us at info@athomechesapeake.org for further information. Please include your full name and address and a few words about how you heard about AHC and/or the Village Movement. We will respond by email or by phone, whichever you prefer.
Membership fees:
$150 per year per household. (Each household may have up to two members. A secondary member can be added to the membership during the sign-up process or through the Member Profile screen after joining.)
